The UNESCO has listed the Dordogne as a World Biosphere Reserve. On site, you can fish in one of the most well stocked rivers in France. The Dordogne has its source in the Massif Central and flows through our region before it ends in the Atlantic Ocean. Many anglers enjoy fishing pike, pike perch, roach, eel and lamprey. We suggest that you go fishing with a real pro who will take you to unusual places on the Dordogne

The Dordogne River is also a paradise for canoeing and kayaking. The COPEYRE Canoe Base is located only a few miles from the Château de la Treyne. 

A bus picks you up directly at the entrance of the estate. According to your schedule and your level of  acquaintance with this sport, you can start your canoe descent from Creysse or from Meyronne. An unforgettable outing with a picnic prepared by our Chef will allow you to discover the Dordogne Valley. Count at least two hours of descent with time for swimming.

The Padirac chasm is the most iconic and the first underground site in France. It drops 75 metres from the surface of the Causse.

In the Lacave caves, you descend by a small electric train which takes you to a fairytale world where you will discover a series of halls where stalactites are reflected in numerous small underground lakes.

Ils sont beaux, fiers, romantiques, parfois discrets, voire même secrets et un soupçon mystérieux. On leur prête de nombreuses légendes qui nourrissent l’imaginaire à l’envie… D’ailleurs, l’une d’elles raconte que leur présence serait le fait de la maladresse heureuse d’un ange très amoureux. 1001 châteaux… Tel est l’extraordinaire cadeau que cet envoyé des cieux aurait miraculeusement offert à cette étonnante Vallée de la Dordogne décidément bénie des dieux…

Rocamadour - cité médiévale

Haut-lieu de la chrétienté depuis le Moyen-âge pour son célèbre pèlerinage, étape majeure sur le chemin de Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle, Grand Site d’Occitanie et inscrite au patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO, la cité religieuse de Rocamadour, c’est un incontournable absolu de la Vallée de la Dordogne. Arpentant la falaise dont le sanctuaire semble surgir, on passe de palier en palier. Au détour d’une porte, dans la pénombre de sa chapelle à l’abris du rocher, la Vierge noire veille sur les pèlerins et visiteurs qui explorent la cité depuis plus de mille ans, passant notamment par la chapelle Notre-Dame, la crypte saint-Amadour et la Basilique saint-Sauveur. 

Les plus beaux jardins de France

Le bruissement de l’herbe sous nos pas, les rayons du soleil dans les arbres, les abeilles sur les fleurs… La vie au jardin s’anime doucement. On aime s’y balader, écouter le bruit de la nature, se poser sur un banc et admirer la richesse de nos parcs botaniques. Ludiques, suspendus, colorés et odorants, les jardins en Vallée de la Dordogne n’ont pas fini de nous étonner. On se donne rendez-vous à Eyrignac et ses jardins historiques, aux Jardins Sothys et son voyage initiatique, aux Jardins de l’Imaginaire et ses jets d’eau, au Jardin de l’Ancien Couvent, à Meyronne ou encore au Jardin du Grand Couvent, à Gramat.
