The Causse de Gramat is a large limestone plateau at 350 meters high. Rocky outcroppings and meadows of grazing black-eyed sheep give it charm and uniqueness. There are some wonderful places worth a visit along the Alzou and Ouysse valleys as you head for stunning Rocamadour, a near vertical town built on a cliff that was once one of the most important pilgrimage sites in France.

Quaint castles and caves are actually welcome stops (Grottes de Lacave) before you arrive at Gouffre (chasm) de Padirac. There, you’ll be on for a journey to the center of the earth, an unforgettable experience.

Day 1:

Arrive in the afternoon.
You’ll be greeted in your room by a bouquet of freshly cut flowers and local delicacies.
Relax by the pool or with a swim, tennis or walk in the park.
Enjoy a walnut wine aperitif with tidbits.
Dinner menu with choice in each course including a bottle of Château Chambert (Cahors wine), ½ bottle of mineral water, hot beverages (tea, coffee, herbal tea).
Breakfast served either directly in your room, in the castle green parlor or out front on the terrace across from the French garden.
Guided tour of the 13th-century mill of Cougnaguet.
Unguided tour of clifftop village of Rocamadour (exceptional medieval site and one-time center for pilgrimage, you’ll find ecclesiastical buildings galore up there, including the crypt of St. Amadour, for which “the rock” was named).
Guided tour of the Padirac Chasm (certainly worth a visit: the caves of Padirac are explored by boat on an underground river).

Day 2:

Return to La Treyne and relax by the pool or with a swim, tennis or walk in the park.
Champagne aperitif with tidbits.
Dinner with gourmet menu and our wine selection, 1 bottle of mineral water, hot beverages.
Breakfast either in your room, in the green parlor or on the terrace across from the French garden.
Unguided tour of Autoire and Loubressac, two villages that belong to the selected few “One of France’s Prettiest Villages”.
Guided tour of the castles of Montal, or Castelnau Bretenoux.
