FAMILY ORIENTED PLAN

Come discover our wonderful region with your children!

Depending on their age and the period of the year that you plan on staying with us, you’ll be proposed:

A tour of the National Museum of Automata and Robotics in Souillac. This museum has more than 300 items from the Roullet-Descamps workshops on show: mechanical toys, automatons, musicians and animated scenes. One of the richest collections in Europe. Yours to discover!

A tour of the underground caves of Lacave where an electric train takes you into the rock to see a series of caves, complete with stalactites and stalagmites, and an extensive network of underground lakes that capture reflections from the overhead formations.

Eagle Rock, which is home to more than 400 birds, representing 60 different species. Not only does this place support the protection of endangered species but it also provides you with a commented show of birds of prey in flight.

Monkey Forest, home to rare Barbary Macaques. These monkeys live in the wild in this 50 acre protected park of forest and prairies. They’re pretty docile and love the popcorn that you’re invited to feed them. An enjoyable experience and pleasant change of scenery.

A canoe trip down the Dordogne.

A tour of Gouffre de Padirac, a splendid example of the cave formations in the area (gouffre means abyss or chasm) where you’ll experience a boat ride more than 300 feet below earth's surface. Elevators provide access and exit from the cave, which features interesting rock formations and numerous stalagmites, stalactites, pools, etc. First explored by French Speleologist Edouard Martel in 1889, the chasm has been open to the public since 1898. The Grand Dome is an impressive open area, above which the earth's crust is only a few meters thick. A fun and different attraction. It's not often that you’ll be in a boat 300 feet underground!

A tour of the fortified 13th–century mill of Cougnaguet, nestled in a beautiful limestone canyon and turned by the waters of the Ouysse River.

A tour of La Borie d’Imbert, just outside of the staggeringly beautiful, cliff-hanging village of Rocamadour. La Borie d'Imbert is a goat farm, producing some of the richest, deepest-tasting goat cheese in France. You’ll get a full tour, a full explanation of the process--and, depending on the day, get to see at least some of the cheese-making. One thing is certain: you’ll have a chèvre tasting at the end of your visit, which will whet the appetite for dinner...

A tour of the brand-new Champollion Museum located in Figeac, about an-hour drive from La Treyne.
